Beyond Square Feet: 32nd Lecture – When Homes Become Poetry
As part of the World Habitat Day celebrations, Asset Homes organised the 32nd edition of its flagship “Beyond Square Feet” Lecture Series on October 11, 2025, at Asset PKS Heritance, Calicut.*
The event reflected Asset Homes’ guiding philosophy — that a home transcends being merely a physical structure. It is a place where emotions are nurtured, relationships flourish, and life’s meaning is realised.
Through the Beyond Square Feet series, Asset Homes fosters dialogue that goes beyond architectural and construction boundaries, focusing on the emotional, cultural, and human elements that truly define a home.
Proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Mr. V. Sunil Kumar, Founder & Managing Director of Asset Homes, who underscored the significance of developing homes that embody both excellence and spirit. His remarks established an inspiring foundation for a session dedicated to celebrating living environments rooted in values, heritage, and aspirations.
A notable feature of the evening was the keynote address delivered by esteemed poet and lyricist, Shri. Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma. He discussed how Malayalam literature and film music have historically depicted homes as sanctuaries of warmth and identity. By referencing the work of lyricists such as Shri. Vayalar, Shri. P. Bhaskaran, Shri. Bichu Thirumala, and Shri. Ramesan Nair , he illustrated how their verses transform ordinary households into enduring symbols of love, devotion, and unity. He stated, “A home is not just constructed with walls and roofs – it is shaped through care, affection, and shared aspirations.”
Shri. Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma’s sentiments resonated strongly with attendees, serving as a reminder that the true value of a home is found in the emotions it encompasses and the serenity it provides.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks, the national anthem, and high tea, bringing an end to an evening characterised by thoughtful reflection, inspiration, and meaningful exchanges.
The Beyond Square Feet Lecture Series reaffirms the commitment of Asset Homes to meaningful living, emphasising that the authentic worth of a home is measured by the life it sustains within rather than its physical dimensions.
