Asset Homes Hosts 33rd Edition of Beyond Square Feet Lecture Series on World Water Day
Marking the occasion of World Water Day, World Habitat Day, and World Environment Day, Asset Homes hosted the 33rd edition of its flagship “Beyond Square Feet lecture” series, an initiative that extends beyond real estate to address critical social and environmental issues. The event commenced with a prayer, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Subhash K. Joseph (Apartment Owner at Asset Belford), Mr. Sabu Puthupparambil (Panchayat President & Ward Councillor), Mr. V. Sunil Kumar (Founder & Managing Director, Asset Homes), Mr. Sunny C. Chacko (JV Partner), and Mr. Zubin Nair (GM Operations – Central Kerala).
The session was led by Mr. Sreekumar Muzhathala, Retired Dy. Director of Akashavani Thiruvananthapuram, who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking talk on the growing global water crisis. His address highlighted how water and natural resources are often overlooked until scarcity and environmental disruptions occur. Drawing from global examples, he spoke about the challenges faced by countries such as the United States, Israel, and Iran, emphasising the urgent need for enhanced water conservation and storage solutions.
He also shed light on the intrinsic link between forest conservation and water security, underscoring that safeguarding forests is vital not only for biodiversity but also for ensuring sustainable water resources for future generations. Adding to the significance of the event, Mr. V. Sunil Kumar, Founder and Managing Director of Asset Homes, addressed the gathering and reiterated the importance of ensuring safe and accessible drinking water for the global population. He emphasized that water conservation is deeply embedded in the company’s values and continues to be a guiding principle in its approach to development. The event concluded with a collective reflection on the importance of water as the foundation of all life, supporting ecosystems, wildlife, and humanity and a shared commitment towards preserving this invaluable resource.
