Asset Homes Advocates for Climate – Conscious Real Estate at 34th Edition of Beyond Square Feet Lecture Series
06 June 2026
Asset Homes, one of Kerala’s leading real estate developers, held the 34th edition of its popular Beyond Square Feet lecture series at Ramavarma Club, Kollam. The event brought together homebuyers, industry professionals, and sustainability advocates for an engaging session on climate change and responsible real estate development.
Prominent speaker Mr. Rammohan Palivath, renowned Author, Editor, Communication Professional, and CEO of Prasiddhi Communications, addressed the gathering, stressing the need to rethink construction practices in the context of Kerala’s unique ecological landscape. He highlighted that the state’s rich network of water bodies, wetlands, and green cover calls for a distinctly mindful approach to construction, one that protects rather than displaces nature. He also underlined the importance of homestead farming as a practice that must be preserved to keep Kerala’s local ecosystems intact.
Asset Homes Founder & Managing Director, Mr. V. Sunil Kumar, spoke about the company’s continued commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible development. He highlighted that the central concept of Asset Around The Tree, the company’s landmark 125th project at Tripunithura, is built around preserving and enhancing green spaces, with nearly sixty open-space special trees will be planted across the project premises, creating a harmonious balance between modern living and nature. He elaborated on the company’s use of solar-powered water recycling systems, rainwater harvesting, and green water treatment as standard features in its project developments, significantly reducing dependency on external water sources.
Mr. V. Sunil Kumar further highlighted that solar energy is actively utilized across the company’s project developments. He also emphasized the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems that enable water recycling and reuse for terrace gardens and other purposes. Additionally, air-conditioning costs are significantly reduced through the incorporation of thermally efficient sliding doors and facades, which help minimize overall energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency across Asset Homes’ projects.
The session encouraged homebuyers to look beyond conventional metrics like price per square foot and consider the environmental responsibility of a real estate developer as a meaningful factor in their decision-making.
