Dear Friends,

Heartiest congratulations to all our August achievers! Your remarkable performance reflects the focus, consistency, and determination you bring to your work every day. These achievements are not merely individual successes; they represent the collective strength of our team and the growing stature of Asset Homes.

I sincerely appreciate the effort each of you has put in. May the success of our August performers inspire all of us to raise our standards, challenge ourselves further, and continue creating greater achievements together.

But as we enter September, my thoughts are also somewhere else.

A Life That Taught Us How to Lead

Two days ago, we lost Shri P. H. Kurian IAS, a remarkable civil servant and distinguished administrator. For me, however, the loss is deeply personal. I lost a mentor, a guide, a philosopher, and a true friend.

Some people enter our lives through circumstances. A very few enter our lives and quietly change the way we think, work, and live. Kurian Sir was one such person.

His long and distinguished career in public service was marked by the courage to take difficult decisions and the wisdom to balance competing interests. He understood something fundamental about governance: laws, policies, and institutions ultimately exist to serve people.

His approach to development reflected this balance. He encouraged entrepreneurship, innovation, and the start-up ecosystem, while believing equally in discipline, enforcement, and responsible regulation. He knew that encouragement without accountability could create chaos, just as regulation without encouragement could suppress innovation.

His strength was in finding that difficult middle path, creating an environment where enterprise could flourish while ensuring that society and public interest remained protected.

There is a powerful lesson in this for every entrepreneur. We often operate in a world of targets, growth, competition, deadlines, and numbers. Kurian Sir constantly reminded me, through his words and actions, that behind every number is a person, behind every project is a family, and behind every decision is a responsibility towards society.

His tenure as Chairman of RERA had a particularly profound influence on me as a builder. For him, regulation was never merely about enforcing rules. He believed that a strong and sustainable real estate industry could exist only when there was trust between the builder, the customer, and the system.

Many conversations with him made me look at our own business differently. He taught me that compliance should never be seen as an obstacle to business, but as a foundation for credibility. He reinforced my belief that a good developer does not merely construct buildings. A good developer builds confidence. That is a lesson I will carry throughout my entrepreneurial journey and one I want Asset Homes to carry forward as an institution.

Beyond the administrator, however, there was the person. Conversations with Kurian Sir could move effortlessly from governance and business to life, literature, and philosophy. And sometimes, after all the serious conversations were over, there was simply a quiet evening, a single malt in the glass, friendship across the table, and the comfort of being with someone who understood life deeply.

Those are the moments I will miss the most. For me, he was never just an IAS officer or a former RERA Chairman. He was my mentor, guide, philosopher, and true friend.

As we remember him, I would like all of us at Asset Homes to carry forward something from the life he lived: Lead with integrity. Decide with courage. Encourage innovation. Respect regulation. Treat people with dignity. And never forget the larger purpose behind what we do.

As Asset Homes grows bigger and our ambitions become larger, these principles become even more important. Growth must never distance us from responsibility. Success must never make us complacent about integrity. And business must never make us forget the people whose trust makes our journey possible.

Perhaps the most meaningful tribute we can pay Kurian Sir is not through words, but through the way we conduct ourselves, the decisions we make, and the institution we continue to build.
Rest in peace, Kurian Sir.

Your friendship will remain with me. Your guidance will continue to live through the lessons you leave behind.
